DRESSES

for Janine the Dressmaker

I love, love, love a pretty sundress.

And I love, love, love certain animal prints — snake and croc excluded.

I thought the the pretty ruffled sleeve strap and the gathered ruffle were a great juxtaposition to the sophisticated animal print.

When I word this, someone wanted to know where I bought it.

It drapes so beautifully too.

My favorite colour combination is white and black.

I love the drama of it.

And I love this statement print. I haven’t work it yet as I don’t have any black sandals worthy of it. But they are on order.

And wouldn’t it be fantastic if I could find some red patent leather sandals. I’m a looking.

I have a half black/half white tote that will look dynamite with this.

I love a fruit dress.

When I worked in corporate America, I used to have a gorgeous sheath dress with a citrus fruit motif. I loved that dress.

And even though I gave it up years ago, because my style changes, I have never forgotten how much I adored that print.

Oh, and can you tell that I also have a serious thing for a ruffles — this is a circular ruffle or flounce.

I wore it today and the compliments kept coming.

I saw this pattern and I loved that bodice thing, so I drafted a pattern and I am ecstatic how it turned out.

In fact, all of my dresses are self-drafted, except for the white and black beauty. It is a modified sewing pattern.

Now, I’m off to draft another pattern from a dress I used to have and loved.
